Every document gets signed differently

A quote that needs accepting today and an NDA that has to be signed before a first meeting are not the same job. What changes is who signs, how much of a hurry they are in, and what you need to be able to show afterwards. These pages take each case separately, with the actual process and without promising anything the product does not do.

The journey of every envelope

Every contract moves through the same states, and every state leaves a record: what was sent, who opened it, who signed and when.

  1. Sent

Each signer gets their own link by email.

  2. Viewed

The moment the document is opened is recorded.

  3. Signed

The signature is stamped on a copy of the PDF.

  4. Evidence

SHA-256 hash, date, time and IP in the report.

What is the same every time

You upload the PDF you already have. You place the fields each person needs to complete, and you send it. Whoever receives the email opens a link, reads the document, types or draws their signature, and they are done. Nothing to install, no account to create.

Once everyone has signed, SektorSign stamps the fields onto a copy of the original PDF, computes the SHA-256 hash of the result, and produces a separate evidence report recording who signed, when, and from which IP address. The original file is never modified.

What changes with the document

The number of signers and what each of them is agreeing to. Where the fields go. And what you will need to prove months later. A quote needs to be fast more than it needs to be formal; an employment contract arrives with annexes; a consent form is short but you will collect hundreds of them.

What SektorSign does not do, and you should know first

It does not issue digital certificates, it does not perform advanced or qualified electronic signatures, and it does not timestamp through a trust service provider. What it does is leave a traceable signature: the signed document, its hash, and a report of the whole journey. For most agreements between businesses and their clients that is what is needed. If your case requires a qualified signature by law, you need something else, and we would rather you found that out here.

Frequently asked questions

Does the person signing need an account?
No. They get a link by email, open the document, sign, and that is the end of it. No account, no app, no software to install.
What do I get when the document is signed?
Two files: the PDF with the signatures stamped onto the original, and an evidence report listing who signed, when, from which IP address, and the SHA-256 hash of the document.

Try it with a real document

You can walk through the whole signing process without creating an account or uploading anything. It is a demo: no real document is created.
